ber 29 - A reported drastic decrease in donations to UK charities has prompted Dendrite Media to donate all of its October profits to a number of smaller charities in the UK. Dendrite Media is the owner of a slot casino reviews site and said that their move to make this donation was part of their desire to help the less-fortunate in an economic climate when people are hesitant to part with their money. A large UK charity, Cancer Research will be forced to cut spending on vital medical research by up to ?650 million due to the current economic situation. Likewise, charity shops are reporting a drop in the number of donations that they are receiving; while hospices are finding it hard to raise enough funds to provide basic care for the terminally ill. A poll has shown that over one third of UK charities has experienced a drop in donations since the start of the year.
A spokesperson for Dendrite Media said: "The state of the economy is hitting small charities that rely on regular donations. People that would happily donate during good economic conditions are having to tighten their belts to beat the credit crunch, meaning they now find themselves unable to give. Our online casino and online slots reviews business has not yet seen any major impact due to the credit crunch and so we hope to be able to make significant donations to UK charities."
The move by Dendrite to make donations to UK charities comes in the wake of reports of many other major businessmen and companies who are taking similar steps. Dendrite's spokesperson admits that their donations are on a much smaller scale, but said that "every bit helps" and they hope that others would read about what they were doing and would follow suite.
One wonders if Dendrite are hoping this story will be looked at favourably the Google Gods, who might then deign to allow them unfettered access to Adwords, or is that too cynical when writing about cancer research charities?
