November 12 - The upcoming merger between WagerWorks and Million-2-1 could pave the way to the release of new mobile casino slot games, according to industry experts.
This week, IGT, which owns both companies, announced that it would be merging both entities into one global interactive gambling division.
WagerWorks is one of the world's leading providers of online casino games, with over 100 top titles in its portfolio.
Million-2-1 is one of the United Kingdom's top providers of mobile phone gambling services.
It is believed that the merger of the two will allow a more streamlined operation and see the release of more mobile slots and casino games in the future.
"Merging our online and mobile business units under the IGT brand will solidify our position as a leader in interactive gaming," said the Vice President of IGT, Gideon Bierer.
"In the last five years in the UK alone, we have handled more than $10 in online wagers and are currently processing more than 1.5 billion online transactions each year," he said. "As technology advances and markets evolve, we look forward to accelerating our product innovation and significantly growing our interactive business."
Some of the most popular WagerWorks slots include Enchanted Capricorn, Cleopatra, Elvis, Monopoly and Jeopardy.
